  • Dr. Nagy has done clinical work and research that was presented in this presentation and I'm thankful to be able to incorporate concepts of intersectionality and accessibility in my clinical practice.

  • I really enjoyed the role play experience and have begun to utilize some of the lines of questioning and techniques in my interactions with clients. I am a hands-on learner, so having a role play segment was very kinesthetically appealing to my learning senses!

  • I really enjoyed the presenter's expertise as well as her presentation style, everything seemed smooth and organized - thank you for including this speaker, this topic etc.

  • One thing that I recognized through the training and learned from the training is the importance of self-evaluation in regards to cultural competency. I like to think that I am extremely culturally sensitive and handle situations at work as so but during the training I learned how sometimes we can unintentionally and unknowingly address matters with personal bias. I plan on taking time regularly to self-evaluate and ask myself if my methods and approaches ensure culturally conscious care. I plan on being more curious and asking questions of others' cultures so that I can be more understanding and more effective with my work.

  • A key part of the presentation was the section where Dr. Nagy spoke about cultural humility questions and the social context of it all. This section allowed me to identify there are gaps in my knowledge of this topic but the practice in a clinical setting seems to have its challenges for me as a professional.
